  • Principal Land Surveyor


    GTA is currently seeking a principal-level land surveyor to join and lead our land surveying team. The principal land surveyor generates, schedules, participates in, and oversees the work of GTA’s land surveying department.


    Day-to-Day Activities Include:


    • Client and Prospective Client Communications
    • Coordination with Civil Engineering Design Team
    • Prepare Proposals for Potential Upcoming Work Opportunities
    • Prepare Calculations for Field Work and Land Surveying Deliverables
    • Office and Field Duties Required of Typical Land Surveying Projects
    • Direct and Mentor Other Land Surveying Staff 

    Required


    • Registered Land Surveyor in the State of California
    • 7+ Years of Experience in Topographic Survey, Boundary Survey, Tentative, and Final Mapping
    • Demonstrated Strength in Boundary Resolution
    • Demonstrated Leadership Abilities
    • Mastery of Civil 3D and AutoCAD

  • Civil Engineering Project Manager

    Location: Arroyo Grande, CA

    Garing, Taylor & Associates, Inc. is seeking a skilled and experienced Civil Engineering Project Manager to join our team in Arroyo Grande, California. As a Civil Engineering Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing multiple civil engineering land development and public works projects from conception to completion, ensuring that each project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of our clients.


    Responsibilities:


    • Lead and manage multiple civil engineering projects simultaneously, ensuring that each project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of our clients.
    • Prepare and manage project budgets and schedules, ensuring that all deadlines are met.
    • Conduct site visits and perform field inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications and requirements.
    • Prepare and review engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications.
    • Coordinate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure that all project requirements are met.
    • Manage project teams, including engineers, designers, and technicians.
    • Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams and clients.
    • Ensure that all project documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
    • Participate in business development activities, including proposal writing and client presentations.

    Requirements:


    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
    • Minimum of 7 years of experience in civil engineering project management.
    • Professional Engineering (PE) license in California.
    • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver projects on time and within budget.
    • Strong technical expertise in civil engineering, including design, analysis, and construction.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members.
    • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and lead project teams.
    • Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other civil engineering software.
    • Knowledge of local and state regulatory requirements and permitting processes.
    • Experience in business development, including proposal writing and client presentations, is a plus.

As a Mid-Level Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for working on a variety of land development and public works projects, including site grading, drainage, water and sewer design, and roadway design.

    • Perform civil engineering design and analysis for land development and public works projects, including site grading, drainage, water and sewer design, and roadway design.
    • Prepare engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications.
    • Conduct site visits and perform field inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications and requirements.
    • Coordinate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure that all project requirements are met.
